Omega Center for Special Needs Education is established by a couple whose son was diagnosed with autism at the age of four. The Shafallah Center

The Shafallah Center was established in 1999 at the behest of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser so that Qatari society could provide comprehensive services to children with disabilities. The Shafallah Center is the first facility of its kind in world. The centre offers state-of-the-art technologies, including an on site Genetic Research Centre,cutting-edge therapies and first-class faculty and counselors. The Center is a non-profit, private institution, serving as a model for the provision of special education, therapeutic, and health care support services for children with disabilities from birth to adulthood.

Consumer Protection Department

Consumer Protection Department is responsible to: Implement legislations governing protection of consumer rights, combat commercial fraud, protect competitiveness and prevent monopoly practices. Take necessary measures and arrangements to protect the consumer as per the applicable laws and regulations. Take necessary measures and arrangements to combat commercial fraud. Co-ordinate and co-operate with consumer protection associations and civil society organizations involved in fields of consumer protection and education. Monitor prices of commodities, services and materials in local markets, and prepare the necessary reports stating price trends locally and internationally. Issue licenses required for promotional sales and discounts. Take measures related to inspection and analysis to ensure full compliance with the standard specifications of commodities and goods offered in local markets to protect consumer’s basic needs against commercial fraud. Arab Democracy Foundation – ADF

The Arab Democracy Foundation aims to contribute to the provision of the necessary conditions for democratic transition in the Arab region through executable programs with measurable results.Through building networks, ADF seeks to consolidate cooperation and coordination among Arab and international civil institutions and associations. For instance, ADF participated in the workshop on building a civil society coalition for a citizenship campaign in the Arab region, in addition to organizing the “Arab-Turkish Forum: Exploring Political and Constitutional Reform in the Middle East and North Africa” and the workshop on Arab-Latin American dialogue.ADF also helped form networks connecting civil society organizations in Darfur.

Qatar Financial Centre Authority

Established by the Government of Qatar in 2005, the Qatar Financial Centre (“QFC”) is an on-shore centre which has become an integral part of Qatar’s economy and rapid growth story and is fulfilling its mandate to help build a world-class financial and business environment in Qatar, providing a platform for domestic, regional and international growth. The QFC comprises four independent bodies: the QFC Authority; the QFC Regulatory Authority; the Civil and Commercial Court (First Instance and Appellate Divisions); and the Regulatory Tribunal. The QFC Authority is the commercial and strategic arm of the QFC; it is responsible for developing and ensuring compliance with the QFC regulations and rules comprising the QFC’s legal and tax environments; it is responsible for the administration of the Companies Registration, Employments Standards and Immigration Offices respectively; and it is also responsible for the licensing of all firms applying to conduct non-regulated permitted activities. The QFC continues to attract a broad range of leading regulated and non-regulated firms, both domestic and international. QFC-licensed firms benefit from an environment which operates to international standards, with a legal system based on English Common Law, regulation which is risk and principles-based and a competitive tax regime. Business can be carried out in or from the QFC, in local or foreign currency. Uniquely, this allows businesses to operate both locally and cross-border. Furthermore, the QFC allows 100% ownership by foreign companies and all profits can be remitted outside of Qatar.

Ministry of Youth and Sports

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is in charge of enabling the younger generation, and to enhance their capabilities and recognizing the role they play in nation building. It also oversees improving the State's sports standards to reach levels of excellence. Public Works Authority (Ashghal)

The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' was established in 2004 to be responsible for the planning, design, procurement, construction, delivery, and asset management of all infrastructure projects and public buildings in Qatar. Ashghal’s key responsibilities include governing the design, construction, and management of major projects including roads, drainage and buildings such as public buildings, schools and hospitals. Adhering to the Qatar National Vision 2030, the Authority contributes to the economic and social development of the State of Qatar, with projects valued at over QR 100 billion to be delivered within the next five to seven years. Ashghal has employed a powerful model of strategic outsourcing and partnership with world leading establishments that will bring capacity and capabilities to ensure Qatar rates at par with the most developed nations in the world in the field of infrastructure. Supreme Education Council

The Supreme Education Council - Formerly known as the Ministry of Education - for the State of Qatar, is responsible for all publicly-funded pre-school; schools and the administration of higher education. "Education for a New Era" Established by Emiri decree #37 in November 2002, the Supreme Education Council (SEC) directs the nation’s education policy. It plays an integral role in the development and implementation of the education reform effort, including the work of the Institutes described below that are directly responsible for the reform’s success: (1) The Education Institute - Education Institute oversees and supports the Independent Schools. (2) The Evaluation Institute - Evaluation Institute develops and conducts testing of students, monitors student learning and evaluates school performance. It also has established QORLA, an office overseeing the Registration and Licensing of all Teachers and School Leaders across all sectors of schooling in Qatar. (3) The Higher Education Institute - The Higher Education Institute advises individuals about career options and opportunities for higher education in Qatar and abroad, and administers scholarships and grants.

We are a Special Needs Centre in Doha which provides specialized teaching in a school setting and individual therapy sessions in the afternoons for children aged 3 to 16 who have special educational needs. Our aim is to provide a highly specialized approach to meet each child’s individual and specific needs within the social setting of a school.

Zakat Fund

The Zakat Fund is a national charity dedicated to helping the needy through the proper collection, management and distribution of Zakat. As one of the Five Pillars of Islam, Zakat plays an important role in Qatari society. It is a source of blessing for the community that connects the rich with the poor. Zakat also serves as a reminder that all things, including wealth, belong to Allah. To help the people of Qatar manage their donations, the government established the Zakat Fund in 1994. It now operates as a department under the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, with collection boxes and offices scattered throughout the country.

The General Authority of Customs is the government authority responsible for monitoring importation and exportation of goods in and out of the State in accordance with the governing legislation in this regard. Qatar Central Bank

Established in August 1993, the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has inherited the QMA monetary strategy of targeting the exchange rate. QCB kept adopting the policy of fixed exchange rate against the USD at the same rate of QR 3.64 per USD. In their December 2001 Summit, GCC leaders decided to adopt the USD as a common peg for the GCC national currencies as a step towards accomplishing the GCC monetary union with a united currency .
