Occidental is the second-largest oil producer offshore Qatar, where we operate Idd El Shargi North Dome (ISND), located approximately 50 miles east of the Qatar peninsula, and Idd El Shargi South Dome (ISSD), about 15 miles south of ISND. For two decades, Occidental has worked in close cooperation with Qatar Petroleum to develop and operate offshore oilfields. After assuming operation of ISND in 1994, Occidental increased production through extensive horizontal drilling, waterflooding and multilateral production. We continue to improve recovery rates and add new reserves through state-of-the-art reservoir characterization processes and technical development programs.
