وصف الشركة AMWAJ Catering Services Company was incorporated towards the end of 2006 with an authorized capital of QAR 400mn, with paid up capital of QAR 100 mn under the direction of His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar Petroleum (QP). The immediate objective of forming AMWAJ was to provide a wholly owned Qatari Catering company to provide services to QP and its subsidiaries & affiliates, which was, at the time met by multiple foreign industrial catering service providers. Informing AMWAJ, Qatar Petroleum plans to have a professional hospitality service provider, specifically geared to Oil & Gas sector contracts, working to the highest International standards. During the initial phase AMWAJ was supported by two consultancies, KPMG from Doha and the Russell Partnership of the United Kingdom, who are leading international catering industry specialists. The guidance of the consultants is being used to ensure that the systems and procedures AMWAJ pus in place, for instance in Quality and HSE management, are the most up to date, effective and to the highest possible International standards. AMWAJ started out as a 100% subsidiary of QP but will now form part of GIS holding company and will be floated on the Qatar stock market, in first quarter 2011 leading to the creation of a truly National Catering Company The development of a wholly owned Qatari based hospitality business will bring long term economic benefits to the country.
