The Qatar Photographic Society was created to support the growing photographic movement in Qatar and adopt outstanding talent in this field. Qatar Photographic Society has 650 members and is part of the Federation International de l’Art Photographique (FIAB) in addition to the American Society of Photography. The society organixes frequent photographic exhibitions, seminars and workshops and supervises the organisation of prestigious photography competitions like the Al-Thani International Award for Photography.
