Insure Direct (Brokers) LLC (IDB) was originally established in Dubai in 2000 and has grown as one of the fastest growing brokers in the gulf region during last decade. The insurance broking business of IDB rapidly expanded following its acquisition by Istithmar World in 2006 and added further branches in Bahrain (2008) and Qatar (2009). IDBQ, was incorporated in the State of Qatar on 2 July 2009 and started its operation from July 2010. In December 2013, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT Group) acquired majority interest in IDB. In view of JLT’s acquisition of IDB, the operations and management of Insure Direct Brokers W.L.L. Qatar (IDBQ) came within the fold of JLT Group.
