Ghadeer was established in Qatar in 1986 with the objective of ensuring food security in milk and dairy products and developing an agriculture farm for fresh fodder for dairy cattle to use and for the sale of surplus in the local market. To activate the private sector state policy and privatization projects, the company sold the share of the State of Qatar to the Mohammed Hamad Al mana Group. Also, Simply Organic Qatari Company took over the share of Gulf Investment Corporation. In 2017 after the blockade, Mohammed Hamad Al mana Group purchased the non-Qatari share in Ghadeer and the company is now a 100% Qatari.
